i just read this post and i agree with some point from both sides. some police officers can be real hard on people for no reason. what makes a car so illegal, if it still functions as it did from the dealer, with a little extra
a loud muffler on a car, have you heard a harley davidson go by, that thing hurts my ears, i never see them get pulled over.
i've gotten pulled over one time for my muffler, at the same time someone ran a red light, almost caused a head on accident. guess who got the ticket. me!
i've seen people do some rediculously obvious illegal things in the street and get a way with it. i drive to the store i get stoppped. i don't even drive my car at night anymore, because i'm tired of getting harrassed, for nothing. it is alway the same thing:
Q: do you have any drugs?
A:no
Q:have you been drinking?
A:no
then they walk around the car pick at everything. i'm just trying to get home, so i can go to work in the morning. i hate living in va. i never had this much trouble in any other state.

Va police (local and state) are worthless. Before I ever started modding my car and Jeep I had to call them to come to my house. Boy was that a waste of time. When my stuff gets broken into I would like a little more than a "what the hell should I do" look. I thought MAYBE my family's and I tax dollars would go to work, nope, didn't happen.

To me that wasn't as big of a deal as when the cops accused me of lying about the whereabouts of my exgirlfriend (when I honestly didn't know where she was). That help end our 2 year relationship real quick when they told her parents that.

A small side story: Amherst County, the county I live in (when I'm not @ school) should have the honor of being the stupidest police department in the USA. A local bank was ropped and the hero cops decided to try and solve the case on their own instead of calling the FBI as they should have. Well they screwed up the investigation so bad by the time the actual FBI got there they couldn't do anything w/the lil evidence left. So the robbers got away scot free. (This was in the local paper)

CLIFF NOTES If you need help call the rescue squad/fire department. They won't waste your time.

well, i'm not gonna say the "all cops" thing. but when my car got stolen at the strip, and i called the police, it took 15 minutes for a cop to show up. 15 minutes!!!! they are normally in surplus when you don't need 'em at the strip.

He's right.

But the BEAUTY is, that the public has the ability (although seldom used) to change the law. All someone has to do is start a REASONABLE campaign on the issue.

i'd have to disagres with this one here. lowering your car and raping a 12 year old girl, decappitating her, and burying her in the woods are two different things.

if i'm driving like an idiot and get pulled, it's my own fault. of course, i'm pissed, but not at the officer for doing his job. if i'm going down to the strip to chill out on the beach and go for a lil swimming, and i get pulled twice on the way to the parking spot just b/c of mods, i'm pissed at the cops. especially when i get treated like the rapist, based on the car.

Hey the Newport News cops were at my house inside of 10 minutes arfter some dumb asses tried to break into my house, and then tried to break in down the street. There was like 6 of them looking for the 2 guys.

On a side note, I was downstairs with a loaded .45 as soon as I heard them messing with my door. The cop told me "it would have been a real crying shame" if they had gotten in. And they picked the wrong house. Bastards...
