Kellogg's got me on a stock SRT-4
You will not get off the ticket. Went to court last week with 3 documents from Pomoco Dodge that had the diagram of the SRT 4 exhaust, an inspection of my exhaust from 3 mechanics and a letter from the General Manager. And the judge told me it was ludacris that Dodge sells these cars with illegal exhaust, and to have Pomoco pay my ticket since the factory SRT 4 exhaust TOO loud for the Commonwealth of Va. Go ahead and pay the ticket up front TRUST me it is not worth your time. You are guilty before you even walk into the court room, I was even in my military uniform and even spoke very courteous. And yes the police officer will be there, and yes he'll tell the judge by his discretion the exhaust was too loud. The ticket is by the cops discretion not by the law or by a decible meter, but simply your word against theirs. Good luck if you try to fight it but save yourself two hours, and an extra 40-50 you'll pay then paying the ticket up front.
If that's what really happened, that was the perfect opportunity to appeal and get it taken to another/higher court.
With the judge's reasoning, a class action lawsuit should be filed against Pomoco and any dealership selling the SRT-4's for selling illegal vechicles in Virginia. If enough noise is raised and enough people start taking notice, things could change. Just saying pay the ticket and be isn't the right attitude at this point.
