LOL!

I still don't recall, but that's my route home and it was obviously me.. not sure if I did it on purpose or not. My diverter valve sounds like a goose caught in a fan and it makes me smile every time I hear it

Well the thing about tech'ing cars is that once you start doing it everyone will start bitching about it. Something you've got to realize, even if the car was tech'd at say Dinwiddie (fairly strict tech inspection), I'm pretty sure it would have passed. I looked at the car before it ran, and it seemed like a very well built car. Some things just happen and you can't control. Dinwiddie has probably more accidents than the smaller 1/8th mile tracks around the area (none of which have tech inspections). Granted Dinwidde cars are going faster because it's a 1/4 mile strip, but a lot of times things happen beyond anyones control.

I'm sure everyone would start bitching there are alot of cars that run at NL and local tracks that wouldnt pass tech anywhere else I was just saying they wont start tech'ing just because someone wrecked I've seen plenty of wrecks in the last ten years down there... I know Mike and his dad Im sure the car was built right like you said sometimes shit happens...

Yeah, lots of people have called me and asked me why I traded my car and gave money to some guy for a Supra. They said they rode by my house and the RX-7 wasn't here. So I guess I will just keep all these nosy dumbasses guessing with no car in the driveway and no sig...

you ever been in a car thats bouncing off the rev limiter in gear, doing over 60mph, and have something coming at you hard and fast? you dont think when this shit happens, its all instinct.

throwing it into N might be alright for some instances, but most everyone is gonna try to slam that shifter into P or in another gear, which will really make you shit yer pants then. same goes for killing the switch...most of the time it will go to lock and then you have no steering.

having a brake issue at that speed isnt fun either, since if you read some of the posts you may have seen that he was on the brakes, hence the reason the car darted.

there is always someone to go "what if....", and most every time that person hasnt been in an extreme pressure situation, aka fight or die, so they ask. seriously, you should try it sometime. the whole possibly dying thing really does suck though, it kinda ruins the fun if it actually happens.

go ask Terry Walters what happens when something goes wrong at the big end of the track. i dont think he ever got back into a car and raced after his incident at Bristol (i think, its been a LOOONG time).

shit happens. thats racing. you take risks every time you hit that starter. its subconciously in your mind every time, but most of the time you ignore that little voice that tells you something can happen. when something does happen...that little voice turns into the loudest, most hateful bitch of a sound you have ever heard.

Cliffs Notes: shit wouldnt have changed, small incident+high speeds=big wreck.
