maybe this doesn't happen everywhere, but it damn sure happened in the shop i worked at...
but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. it will just take you a while to get there...

it's not so much the age that bothers me....it's more that i need a serious source of income well before i'm 28. my parents are 55 and 57. they won't be around and have the money to support me forever.
however, from the sound of it, i maybe should avoid the automotive industry.

U wont have a serious income till ur about 25ish being a tech and even then its mediocre at that (65-70K).. and then u have to always be goin to school to learn new things to try to keep above the new crowd.. and then u have to always spend money buying new tools that u may only use once a year..

shit, 65-70k would be a lot to me, even being married and having 2 kids.
well thanks a lot for the input guys. I think i've sworn off the auto mechanic industry. heh.
my dad didnt want me to do it neither. he was certified tech although he doesnt do anything in the career field anymore.
I think im just gonna do hvac and refrigeration. get a $15+ an hour job and go to college with that. plus its a year shorter than auto mechanic.
thank god i didn't decide to goto wyotech heh. that shit was like $20,000+
about my car... i think ill just hit up the library and internet to find out how to hook it up....
