I dont see where Lexus stole any styling cues from BMW's 7 for the new LS. The two cars look very different the LS looks good except for the exhaust the 7 is an ugly car.

The 7 series styling is very controversial so to me its no appealing it has nothing to do with what I can and cannot afford especially since you dont know me nor my income. I hate the 7 styling cause its ugly just like the new 5 and the new 3. As for the similarities many cars look similar in profile the Lexus is an original design its part of there new design language called L-Finesse that strted with GS. Lexus does not copy BMW and they build better luxury cars face it.

 

Amazing how much a simple badge can change someone's opinion of a car.

I don't see anything else other than that. The Lexus looks like a blatant ripoff. From a profile view at least.

 

7 Series of any year > any comparable lexus of the same year.

 

I would have to disagree with the last statement 7 series is a good car but when it comes to luxury the Lexus is more refined and doesnt have the stiff interior of the german cars. In fact back in 2001 AMCI did a comparison test of luxury cars LS430,S600,750il,Silver seraph and Arnage. In that comparison test the LS430 was rated the finest luxury car in america. So yes the Lexus is the better luxury car and lets not forget the Lexus is much more reliable.

Cars arent inferior just in terms of luxury and refinement Lexus cant be beat. MB and BMW make excellent cars but there balance of performance and luxury swing too much towards performance for the average buyer. Also the new BMW designs are ugly and i hate how most bmw's sound when they idle. Plus theres the reliability issue. If you survey the average american they would agree in fact here a quote form consumer reports. Lexus must be doing something right.
