Rather then rebadge a Monaro they should have done something a lot better.
It's just like an SRT-4 in my book
Great Idea...Shitty platform
Other than the fact that you cant fit much larger tires under it (stock), im not seeing how you're coming to this conclusion. The car handles great for being a tank. It has good power, rwd, v8, 6spd...whats not to like (other than the body, which is just an opinion).

Gotcha, this sums it up nearly perfect for me:

The reason I say "near" is because it holds true to the original GTO which was basically a wolf in sheep's clothing, but when someone says the name GTO, I expect it to look like it will kill you and take your money.

I'm just not impressed with them.
If you're going to bring back the "GTO" then you need to do a lot more then rebadge a Australian import.
The concept is the same as the orginal i.e. family car with a monster engine but I think the execution could have been done a lot better.
I think they are ugly and I would not own one. I hope they scrap the current one and start over. Its not even a real GTO they just slapped some badges on it and brought it over from Australia. They didnt even put any thought into it.
Also for you haters. I have a 65 GTO that I just inherited from my DAD. It has 389 tri-power and 4-speed. Garaged since 67 and never been restored(almost perfect). So I do have a REAL GTO not a fake. I will post pictures soon.
I have an appreciation for old GTO's but if you want to put your money where you mouth is, I'll be happy to show you a rear end of what I consider to be a real GTO as well.
Nick, you just put your foot in your mouth. He said he inherited a GTO. Not he is trying to race a GTO. He's into Mustangs. You don't want to race his car. Trust me there.
He thinks his GTO is so much better, let's prove it. I didn't say shit about his Mustang.
Other than looking like you swallowed him whole, why do you have such a Napoleon complex? His GTO is much better than yours, maybe not faster, but most assuradly better.
