How hard is it to lower a car ?

ive heard its not good 2 go lower than 2" on a stock 240 strut iirc

ight thanks guy's. So basically all I need is a set of tools.. and a spring compressor if i feel like being safe.

2 more questions, Is it legal and is 2inches too low ? ive taken a take measurer out and measured between the wheeles and the fend and it looks ok.. but i dunno if thats the correct way to go about it?

its not legal and some cops will ticket you for it, 2 inches isnt enough to attract attention and is a pretty decent drop but not excessive.

seein as how its a 240 make sure the plate on top of the strut still spins relatively freely. also, once you get your springs off, push down on your struts and watch them come back out. they should return with some confidence if you know what i mean. check for any worn out/severely cracked bushings while you take everything apart. all this stuff is way easier to fix while you have the suspension disassembled. good luck and go with 2" or less IMO

Just lil update lowered the car successfully it took like 5hours and lowered it right at 2.5inches,, which leaves 1/2in between the top of wheels and wheel well,, Looks nice thanks to all help.... PS> spring compressors suck ass,, best thing is to get a cardboard box and put a tiny hole just big enough for your socket and let the springs + hard ware shoot into the box.. LOL

any pictures of the car?? let us see it...and i lowered my civic 3 hours...i had a spring compressor, air compressor w/ the air gun and some sockets...and my cousin did his the same day w/o a spring compressor and the spring shot at a friends leg...

But if you don't have spring compressors, how do you go about putting the mount back onto the strut when the new spring is installed....?
