the vtec pull is not only from the vtec solenoid or vteck controler, it all goes down to the vtec cams.
You might want to get type r cams they are the best.
A vtec controler will help by starting your vtec sooner.
not too convinced on the vtec solenoid just because all it does is open and close, but if you whant it get it.

or you can buy one of those nasty ported vtec solenoids.....

 

I've found the JASMA non-ported solenoids to work better on an ls/vtec than the ported ones.

 

I find that if you run a heavier weighted oil vtec will CRACK HARD. Because we all know vtec runs off of oil pressure so the more weight in the oil the louder it cracks. Seriously.

Turn your VTEC controller to 2k rpm to man, you want that to be coming in fast and hard. You can be vtecing all day on fools.

 

man you guys are skammers, I saw this thread and decided I needed some vtech.

I found a type r solenoid at a junk yard, the guy was nice, he said he wanted to sponsor me and gave me one of his biggest stickers to put on my back glass, you guys might not have heard of him, he said he is right from Japan. The name of his team is S.T.U.P.I.D. so I got the sticker with his name and put it on.

Then I did as you guys said and put the vtech solenoid on the back of my d16y7 motor and used a little jb weld to hold it in place. Well I drove it and nothing happened? I won't give you guys a bad trade rating I just wanna know how long it will take before I spin tires when I hit vtech
