GSXR1k all the way..
Kawasaki does not need to prove itself. And I am not sure but every cycle magazine I have read really just raves about the zx6r and its complete awesomeness. Kawasaki ftw.

What kind of bike was that streetfighter?

I started out on 2004 R6 and just recently bought my Gixxer, so my input is you will be happy with either. I love the way the R1 looks over the Gixxer because it just screams speed and looks means. Go with what you want and you'll be happy. There both great bikes

Lol, so many different opinions... Yamaha really has my attention but so does Suzuki. Haven't heard too much about Kawasaki.

And by the way, I'm definitely considered a beginner; pretty new to riding. I don't want that to hinder your opinions that you're giving me for a bike. I've heard the stories about 1000cc bikes and how they don't mix with beginners, but I disagree (depending). The bike isn't "out to get you." The rider initially has control and can keep that control at an optimal level with smart and clear thinking.

Only the rider knows what they are capable of and what challenges they are comfortable with accepting.

Not for the winners, or top of many racing circuits that I have seen Suzuki's, Yamaha's, Ducati's and some Honda's. In any racing Org. you have to go to a least 10th place or better to find a kawi!

In the latest Sport Rider I think it was, 2007 GSX-R 1000 had a full write up and was liked most out of all the liter bikes. I do on the other hand love my Kawasaki cordless drill i got from Northern, it is great. But really Kawasaki is not on the top of any Cycle Racing except dirt sometimes..

Read above, come on dude. It's more like A Kawisaki prevents a good rider from being able to ride at his level. They hinder, not help. Haven't you been riding for like a year or so from what i have seen on here. You ride a 500 right, prob. with huge chicken strips and a bald center..

K change the topic a little...

My final choices are either the 07 R1 or 07 R6. Anyone with personal experience with either bike or both, please give opinions. I hope to be buying one in a month or two.

No more suggestions on other bikes as these two are my final options.

Thanks a lot guys! And other brand bikers, take no offense. I love you all and we'll be ridin together some day
