Can a person still get in trouble for telling people that hes an undercover cop when hes not? How would that work?
Hell yes. It is illegal to impersonate a Law Enforcement official.
My sister got pulled over by a fake cop. He had a big Chevy truck with lights in the grill. It's a good thing my sister doesn't take shit from anyone. She said he didn't really look like a cop (he had a utility belt with no gun and a flashlight). He asked her to step out of the car she told him she wasn't doing shit until she saw some Identification. She rolled her window up (it was just cracked) and used her cell phone to dial the real police. He jumped in his truck and busted a U-ey in the street, she didn't get his plate. They caught the guy 3 weeks later when he pulled over another young girl. The police speculate that he was trying to commit rape, but never succeeded (thank God). The local news was calling my sister day and night for a week trying to get an interview. Shit was crazy.
I was asking because one my friends (female) says that one of her guy friends is an undercover cop. But he seems the type to just be lying about it to get attention.

It wouldn't be the first time something like this has happened. You've gotta watch out for that shit, people who lie like that are only trouble in the end. Tell your friend to watch out for any odd behavior.
The fact that you didn't call gives them the chance to do it to someone else, and worse if they find what they are looking for (a female) rape / murder someone that could have been prevented by a simple phone call. I don't know about you, but I would't want that on my conscience......................
honestly do you really think that him stopping and calling it in, would've made a difference? there are a million civics around here. not to mention maybe the kid just had strobes in his car and wasnt impersonating a cop...maybe the tool who was drinking and driving could've mistook what was happening and thought he was pretending to be a cop because he was paranoid and drunk?

Well i'm not 100% sure if he isn't or not, but I agree with you. Something about him doesn't seem trustworthy.
