Now, if you had a Lsvtec or something with torque to pull you thru those long gears, yes. I'd say do it.

Honda chose that trans for the b16 for a reason. Stick with it.
Why would I regret doing that? A friend of mine has a b20/vtec turbo on an XSI transmission and all he does is spin and shift. spin and shift. spin and shift. Seems kinda pointless to me? But if I am wrong, please correct me.

I had a GSR tranny, and i swapped it out for a LS. Reason why is because i was shifting into 5th gear in the 1/4mile. If i had a higher redline i would rather have the shorter gears.

In the end its up to your preference and your motor setup.

Sounds to me like.
A) Your friend needs better tires.

B) Some traction bars.

C) A LSD of some sort.

D) Learn throttle control.

E) A good alignment.

Mike. Your also a B20. You don't rev as high as he does in his B16.

O well. I'll stop posting in this thread.

So in all honesty, should I keep the b16 transmission? It is already equipped with factory LSD and is still a pretty solid transmission.

i agree with A and D. Possibly B, C and E, id have to know more.

Traction bars mainly help to eliminate wheel hop. Also to help with traction he could try to get a larger diameter wheel and tire combo.

Yeah thats why i said IF i had a higher redline. I wouldnt want the short gears of a B16 unless i reved to around 9k.

Yes. If you honestly feel after getting the setup in that you dont want the trans, keep it and get another one.

I bet you'll put it back in.

Traction bars on EF's replace the front crossmember. Which have most likely have shitty 1991 stock bushings in it.

LSD? I need to explain it? My car used to go one wheel wonder when I'd shift into 3rd. It sucked rather bad and I was probably making about 220whp on 7psi.

Alignment(adjust the camber) is good so your tires get full contact.

Also. I'm from the RWD world, grew up around domestics. I'm all about making my car hook, always have but on my old setup I lacked in that subject(open diff, shitty tires etc etc).

Since then.
I have
A) LSD.
B) Solid motor mounts.
C) 100% brand new front end bushing wise
D) 215/45 Falken Azenus(old ones... I need to replace them soon).

But I dont have power.. I'm working on that one :P
