Black WRX on 264 yesterday
yea.. I know.. people on here never do anything like that.. LOL.. street races in VB... NO WAY!!! we all mod our cars to take them to the track thats 2 hours away.
There are 2 tracks less then 45 minute drive away and 2 tracks less then a hour and a half drive away..
And thats doing the speed limit..
MOst inefficient power adder there is. Horrible design. I ran a ported Eaton M90 for awhile (worse of them all) and although they do obviously work, they have more short comings than any other adder I have come across.
Roots blower... Turbo... CSC... Nitrous...
Roots FTL

Doesn't change anything. If you're trying to argue that even that blower is anywhere near as efficient as a turbo or even a CSC... yes, you still lose. Great for instant power and making gobs of TQ... but they still sit on top of the lower intake and generate tons of heat. Blower like this, especially huge Weiands shine when alternate fuels are used that reduce engine temps drastically alcohol, nitro methane, etc.... I'm still more of a fan of big displacement big turbo. 383 will spool a 101mm turbo insanely fast.
You do realize I can and will sick an IC right under that unit? I'll be making 18 psi at 1500 rpm. More torque over more rpm = more HP = faster. Does me no good to have to get a turbo that has to wait to 4k rpm to spool.
I wouldn't wait till 4k for boost on a motor that only spins to 6.5-7k either. I'm not sure what your point is really. I think my point was quite concrete.\
To add to it. This being from my stand point which no one may agree with. Other reasons I don't like roots blowers. Your I/C... the cores are tiny. Thick, but small in coverage area which menas they have to be restrictive to even work. If they weren't, air would move too quickly past them making it useless. Not that big a deal... but worth mentioning. Secondly, you'll stop making power too early. TQ with those things falls off quick. You'll make a shit ton of TQ early and enduce nothing but traction problems on the street.
In the end I guess it's just different means... Like I said, for street/strip applications... I love big turbo big cubes. I do believe there is a Metalic Green Fbody rolling around here that would agree.

If I did a lower pulley I'm sure I could get near 500 unitl 5500 rpms
