why is v-tec really better?

Anyway, you've explained yourself enough that I'm on board with what you were trying to get across. I see your angle on the transmission argument, you had made it sound like you had some wacky ideas about how everything was related. You've totally redeemed yourself..
I'm not sure whether to be insulted by that or not. If you knew my background you'd know why..

I really don't much care about the VTEC vs. not thing. Just trying to inform some as to what it actually does, that makes it better. If you're building an all out race motor, that has a lot of tight spaced gears, and can afford to be peaky, it isn't better. But for a street car, it's as good as it gets. As well as for a car limited to 4 or 5 speeds, restricted gearing, etc.
What you have/can purchase/are allowed to use for a transmission is as key to choosing a motor, cam profile, etc., as any other single factor.
this is great. thanks for the help.
1 more thing. i need this info for a y7 and y8. i searched and found nothing.
port flow, in CFM, from flow-bench tests, etc. any info on the heads or motor in general would be great.
thanks
