Looking at those blocks for the front you fabbed up, I had a thought. I may be way off-base, but I was thinking you might want to cap the end of those boxes, the end that points toward the wheel. I did notice that they look like at least 1/4 inch thick, but the weak point may be the corners. just a thought....
