I really don't get why people pay $50 to cook your own food.

Aberdeen Barn... a little more pricey than the others mentioned, but well worth it. They have aweseome steaks, and its somewhat of an upscale setting.

If you get the chance, you really should try Fusion 440 in Portsmouth. I had a great experience at 456 Fish, but Fusion 440 was the 2nd best meal I've ever had. First prize goes to Mesa Grill in NYC (Bobby Flay's restaurant, he was there cooking the night I went). Fusion 440 is top notch service & food, but $100 for a 2-person meal is the avg.

Fusion 440 is great. Small upscale place with great food and nice atmosphere. She will not forget it if you take her there. Its not typical of restaurants in this area.

100 is about average for what i'd call a good date place. That's usually with alcohol though.

When i worked at Todd Jurich's in ORF, i would have recco'd the place - i'd start with the mozz/tomato stack and then go from there. I've heard there's been a lot of turnover and the quality's gone down but can't confirm.

A buddy recently opened a badass all fire-grilled place in Hilltop called Fire and Vine. When the girl and I are really looking to throw down on a nice dinner we go there. All you can eat Antipasta bar with every entre.. all fire grilled veggies and some salad stuff is almost worth the price of entry. Actually right next to The Melting Pot which is also a great date place if your into fondue. Has a good 'date' atmosphere but i'm just not a big fondue person.

Gotta second Kanpai on South independence for sushi! omg - wouldn't tell it much from the storefront but damn it's a good time. Steak wrapped asparagus for the appetizer win! We only go there when we're lookin to spend some money on sushi though - just so many things to choose from. We hit up Misako for day-to-day sushi.

Damn you got me all talkin about food... good luck on the date

Great place.

If you have some money to spend, I'd go for Bobbywood. It's pretty upscale. I wouldn't go without a collared shirt and you'll throw down some loot, but it's the best restaurant in the 757, hands down.
