I Want To go Drifting...
Money the enemy isnt it always. Hey guys not to sound like some punk kid that wants to go drafting :P but if I wanted to go to an event where there is more of a chance to practice instead of compete where do they normally set those up at, and not to be a puss but what are the more open sites sorry dont want to mess up the Z that much...
oh and amy...like the dude above me said, money is everyones enemy lol. well good luck and i'll see ya around !!!!
Even with autocross money is always a pain you run into the point where you cant be conpetitive unless you buy that next suspension mod or better slicks or wider rims and tires. Atleast with drift starting out as long as I have access to some old tires I will just burn them up. Any thing else you all would recommend in the long run investing in?
I have a LSD I think I am going to get the cusco 1.5 though, I have a set of Koni yellows going in and I am getting ready to upgrade to a higher spring rate. The Hotchkis set up is 350ftlbs in the front and 300 in the rear and I used to have a set of Corbeau Forza seats I didnt really like them so I got rid of them and went with a harness bar with a six point and stock seats it works great at the autocross and at the track. I was thinking of getting the front chamber arms and setting a more agressive setting.
sounds like your car is well prepped as it is. You should feel good that your car is on par and even out performs in many cases on many of the cars out there. All your missing is seat time.
Thanks man yeah I dont want to do anything really drastic I feel that I need to work my way into mods right now with AutoX I am to the point where I need to spend about 2500 to get really competative with the other over modded 350Z'z out there. So I figured maybe it is time to hone my skills in another way I have always had a problem trying to power steer at the autox's so what better way then to learn to balance power and control then drifting am I wrong. Plus I have about 5 sets of rims that I can put old tires on to have fun hehe alot cheaper then race rubber
for some reason i belive drifting makes you have bad habbits when doing auto x and what not, like unsettling your car and clucth kicking become bad habbits, expecilly when sliding or driving shitty stock powerd 240's
now hopeflully after making my 240 look they way i want i will swicth to my e30 and make it into a track car
