TSCC Auto-X, Sunday May 18th, ACU4 Little Creek
Power is almost a non factor in this game. I ran a 44.7 in a CRX with 107 WHP. This was only my 8th event with R tires on the car so I fell like I left a full sec on course. Don't get discouraged!!!
And I thought I did well with a 46.6, people were killing it out there yesterday. I think most of the faster drivers had really good days on top of being really good.
I need to learn this car. I was taking time off in chunks by trying new things so I'm happy with that. Its a little bit of a change for me.

Yeah, 2nd's to the power rule. I'll be more than happy to trade some HP for Better Handling! I spend most of my runs trying to concentrate on not spinning the rear tires! I think my next mod to the car is to install a 2x4 under the accelerator pedal to limit wheelspin!

I always fell like I leave a second out there, even when I'm happy w/ the runs.

I managed a 52.2 with my street tires in my big boat.
If my body wasn't killing me, I would have put the race tires on.

This was only my 2nd autocross; my best time was 50.762 (PAX 42.742.) I know this car's way faster than that. Hopefully with more seat-time, I can learn to better judge the *right* speed for corners and keep from flying way wide like I was yesterday. And just generally drive way better.
I've seen your car, vbspec- you can hardly call that a CRX anymore! I suppose I could do a few little things to mine to eke a few tenths out and still stay stock... like leave the subwoofer and wind deflectors at home, and turn off the heated seats before each run. But nah, I think it's best if I just learn to drive right, first. Besides, who'd want to race with a cold seat?
