RWD vs FWD (vs AWD...?)
Dude I will start on this. I have seen your pics, you look somewhat young and I am guessing your first RWD is that corrola. While I respect the older cars it is BY NO MEANS A PERFORMANCE RWD machine. With that said I doubt your skills as a rwd car driver. So much so that if I saw you on an ice road trying to play drift king, I would run you off the road.
It is a known fact as much as I hate to say it, the AWD plattform takes the cake. That is why you now see all high dollar top end cars going AWD now. The down side is people get cocky. Don't know the limits think OMG AWD is king.
RWD, made great for going great in a straight line, oh and then you get the people screw FWD and AWD race me sideways nukka. Ummmm ok.
FWD, you fall into the ricer class or the I have no driver skills. But try and drive a 300 plus HP fwd car with TQ steer and have the steering wheel ripped right out of your hands. It takes skill to launch the car. It is not the best perfomance platform we know this. But it is cheap, easy and most FWD cars tend to be more reliable than the rwd and awd counter parts. Hence the sport compact car scene or whatever the f*ck you want to call it was started with these cars. To prove that FWD cars could hang with RWD.
Now what are we talking about here. Obviously I am going to stick up for FWD since that is what I drive I am not saying it is the best. I think in the end it comes down to how well the driver knows his car.
Yes in the price range I could have got my car I could have gotten some raw v8 power. But I choose not to why????Because gas prices and to me going fast is more than a straight line even though my car stock put up times around most stock v8's in my price range even higher. But put those same RWD v8's on a road course and game over. So each platform has it's strong point.
I am ranting I know, but to stir up this bees nest is just stupid and offer your biased, uneducated opinion I find plain silly. This was the OP. Not disrespect but come on dude.
I have owned both FWD and RWD and driven my fair share of AWD's. At the end of the day the fun factor goes to the RWD, the yawn factor goes to the awd (most easy to drive), and the hate factor will always goto the FWD.
Sway bring your car to Hyperfest get on the track with us and then come up with your opinion. I can't respect an opinion with little to no track time.
Talking about iced back roads or snow drifting isn't skill it is fun.

I dont remember saying that I wanted to race anyone in any form of competition at all and I didnt say my car is better than anyone. I actually didnt brag about my car. All I said is that it's RWD and fun.
I attended 2 drift events last fall and then blew a head gasket at 249k miles last winter. I never said I'm the greatest driver and I probably will never be. Yes, I like to drift, but I'm not a hardcore drifter.
I have another motor already installed in but the wiring is still a pain in the butt so it needs more work. I am a full time college student working a full time job also so my finances are not enough to pay all my bills AND work on the Corolla, so the Corolla is definitely not a top priority right now.
(Note that I did NOT explain details of the motor or any "upgrades" on the car just to brag about it in this thread.)

I dont know how many times I have to repeat this. This is NOT about drifting, its about daily driving. It's NOT about racing, its about daily driving. It's about DAILY DRIVING. Should I repeat that?
