Yeah, aftermarket can can probably be cut from either end. If not, the muzzy's nameplate can probably be drilled out and remounted wherever you want.
Stock cans are more of a pain because of how they are made. And many of them have cat. converters in the front part, making it almost impossable to cut through all of that. My 636 is like that...it probably could be done, but I didn't want to risk the can completely.
