Yea, tell me about it ...I learned the hard way with the Blues All I've ever done were spring and shock combos...tokico blue/tokico springs, kyb GR-2's/ Tein 1.5 springs, KYB AGX/ Skunk2 springs, KYB AGX/ Tein springs, etc...

I want a full coilover setup for the added stiffness and height adjustability. Also to get my f*ckin rear end even with the drop of my front end

Hmm is that right? Thats sounding damn good. Just out of curiousity, who gave you that price? I think i might have found my setup

 

I have heard and seen more problems than good on the KSport units.

And they are "36 way" adjustable, but if you actually think they are that adjustable...you are crazy. I'll try and find the link for the actual tests they did on them and show you the "difference" in the damping.

I had the Skunk2 Pro Series Type S' and they were pretty nice. A little stiff.

On my next car, it's going to be the Tein SS/Flex with EDFC or Koni Yellows and Ground Controls.

Since I gave you an exact price, why don't you look around a little. Check out their thread in the Vendor section.

And it sounds like you want a full coilover for the wrong reasons. A Koni/GC setup will work just as well, is cheaper to rebuild if you have to and will ride better.

 

I have had great experience with both K-Sport and Koni/GC setups. The Koni's def. have more damening adjustment, and the ground controls will allow you to lower the car much farther than Ksports. But I had no problems with my Ksports and I liked being able to set preload. However, Ksports are the exact same thing as all the other run of the mill Jap setups. Koni is german, and germans make the best quality and functional suspension. I say go with a Koni/GC setup for what you are using the car for.

 

I'd go with the g/c and koni setup if i didnt hear so many bad things about sleeve style coilover setups. A lil reassurance on that subject and i just might get that setup but as it stands, im still a lil leary

 

Explain these "bad things" that you have heard? If done correctly, doesn't matter if you have the threads on a sleeve or the shock body.

 

Idk, it's probably nuthin. My boy has sleeved and he says that they tend to rattle but it may just be that he didn't do a good job putting them on in the first place At least with a full set, I know that there would be no chance of that

 

I'm on KYB AGX's and S2 springs, i think the ride is amazing (compared to other combos I've driven on/ridden in). I think AGX's with GC sleeves should be plenty- as you can choose what weight springs you want- But another good feature would be to have some preload- which is really (i think) only attainable on full coilovers
