That sounds like hearsay.

 

There was some investigating by one of the forum members and he could only find 3 documented tranny failures, all of which have been all over the internet.

Well, someone else told me this, yes it is hearsay. However the one that said this was the instructor at the GTR training for my service manager, therefore I consider it to be a fairly reliable source, considering even their instructors were dogging the trannys in these cars.

I mean, it is fact, the trannys suck and are an issue. They are expecting to replace many of them, this is why there is a page in the back of the service schedule that lists 7 slots for tranny replacement. If they didn't know their trannys sucked and would be replaced more often than any of their other models, they would not have that tranny replacement log in there.

I'm not trying to get into a pissing match, The GTR is a neat car, and is far more technologically advanced than most. However, it is extremely expensive and I'd rather spend a couple grand on an xbox/ps3, a big screen, la-z-boy and the latest edition of gran turismo then drive a car like that.

Nissan, put a fucking 6-speed manual in your car and be done with it

 

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.......then the software nerd would actually have to learn how to drive properly. Heel-n-Toe, Toe-n-Heel....ack, I can't do it, where is the auto pilot?

 

It would be well worth every penny if there was a keyboard on the steering wheel. I'd drive it using the command prompt.

but the zr-1 is a damn near perfect car..

+1 to the GTR v-spec for the idea.. still a awesome car but the zr-1 is a little bit better in my eyes...

 

Fuck a stick shift... go drive the new Porsche PDK and you'll be amazed... I was.

 

I mean, I'm not a GTR fan boy. I wouldn't buy one.
