Shocks and springs front and rear (double wishbone in the front, some weird IRS diagonal pivot axle that is a unique to MB design in the rear). I don't know first hand, but I've been told that if you try to remove the control arm without compressing the spring you will end up with a broken hand and a hole in your floor (i.e. even with the car off the ground the springs are under considerable tension).

I object to calling a car that is 3650lbs (while being dimensionally the same as a Chrysler 300) heavy ass. All steel in the car is high strength steel, hence the relatively light weight.

No hurry, I still have to decide if I want Kmac or H&R springs and then order the springs.

EDIT: Ok, some googling suggests Kmac springs suck. Now I just have to wait for my check to post, then order the springs and camber plates, then I'll be in touch.

Small dick much? Your engine size has nothing to do with mercedes shit ass suspension. I helped bwell work on his one day, and it's a fucking nightmare.

Lern2TakeAJoke?

And yes, late 1960s/early 1970s suspension technology is fun. It's actually pretty easy to work on once you have the entire collection of proprietary tools. Ball joint can be done in about an hour...but you need the proprietary $400 ball joint press for instance.

It kinda came out of left field. I don't see why car manufacturers do a lot of the dumb shit they do.

You mean like why do the english language FACTORY TECH service manuals for this car play tricks on you like tell you the heater blower is above the driver's footwell when it's above the passenger's footwell? Or why you need a model-specific tool to change the valve springs? Or why instead of having valve lash specs you have to buy the proprietary go/no-go gauge? Why does it take 14 hours to change the heater core and 15 hours to change the front sway bar? Because there were probably still some Nazi sympathizers working at MB in the 80s and they wanted their revenge.

Why have I hijacked this guys thread? Oh, that's right, because he thinks $50 is a fair offer to install coilovers.
