Their the most superior designed 4 cylinder out their period.....what else engine the cylinder wall, heads, and crank holder are sperate..... the inline 6 is like that but thats different story
NO, its your opinion, but NO! If this was a proven fact, I'd agree. But since you've gone so far off the thesis of this thread, NO!

Pftttttt V-6, total weakness.

Go all out and do a Lexus/I-Force V-8 swap.

Swaping a Chevy small block (not LT1/LS1) into the Fiero was pretty common because the engine uses the same bellhousing as the transaxle. People have even swapped the Northstar DOHC 32 valve V-8 into the Fiero, generally with the FWD transmission too.

You should be the first do have a V-8.

In all honesty I’m not exactly sure why you thought you’d find any real information regarding your swap on this web site. There are only a handful of actually knowledgeable folks around here and pretty much any Toyota fan is little more than a 4 cylinder fanboy who is going to tell you some gutless 4 cylinder is more powerful regardless of the facts.

If you really want to do this I’d suggest getting a n/a car. They are cheaper and let’s be honest; you are going to want to upgrade things like the brakes anyway.

Ebay is a great place to find one with a blown engine because there is forever some stupid kid doing something to their car to destroy the engine.

If you want to see a cool site check out www.hybridz.org.

It’s primarily a Z car engine swap site but people have other cars such as RX-7s for example. These guys actually do WORK on cars using parts that weren’t ordered from Nopi.

and what? any domestic guy is gonna tell you to do a V8 swap? tell you what: you need to think about lots and lots of things such as material fatigue. you need to consider the driveability, the actual worth of what you're doing. by that, i mean, is it worth it to make it so that if you have to change spark plugs you have to drop the engine down? you need to get your head out of your ass when it comes to bigger is better theory. it's called efficiency. it's why there are still little 4 cylinder "fanboys" that can and do blow V8 powered cars away. it's how Toyota built a 2.1L I4 that was able to produce a reliable 750-800whp. also, the fiero was another fine product which was made of parts bin extras...hmmm.....kinda like the reliant k...
and he wouldn't be the first to try 'other' engines into an MR2.

And when Toyota went racing at Le Mans they took a V-8 powered MR2.

And what does a full blown race engine have to do with street cars? Joe Morgan’s got a 900hp Ford Pinto engine which is 8 valves and SOHC cam with a turbo. Your argument is invalid unless you want to own up to the notion that a huge company like Toyota can’t build a more powerful engine with twice the number of cams and valves. If 4 cylinders were as great as you claim then SOMEONE would have broken 200mph in the 1/4 mile by now.

The problem is idiotic fanboys like you confuse peak hp with efficiency and it’s nonsense.

Let’s take the 2000 Stillen Ultimate Celica for an example. The car cost a whooping $500,000. It makes 497hp and it was AWD. It ran a 4.8 second 0-60 and a 13.3 in the 1/4 mile.

A late model Camaro SS costing $28,000 can run 4.8 and 12.78 bone stock from the factory.

Why can’t the Celica? Simple. Aside from a completely gutless bottom end (torque), the engine just couldn’t stay in the 500hp range very long before having to shift.

well if tell me im wrong u dont know shit about mechincal engineering of motor. Well sorry most drag members dont. Inline 4 is one of the worst engine cylinder configuration. Flat 4 has very little force but on the crank or bearings as a much as inline 4. Tell me this why does the s4 audi use a twin turbo v6 not a vr6, not not w8 not the v8. why does bmw used v8 in the m5 not a inline 8. all their other cars are inline confugation...

v design is much sepurior design then inline....
