We'll have to make the most of our first session, because I highly doubt our instructors will be happy with us bump drafting in DE1.

I dunno for sure about the rollbar rules on this one, as it's a new facility and not a NASA-MA event. Check with Jim Pantas @ NASA-SE directly.
As for April, I'll tentatively be there instructing and driving who knows what. Can't wait to check out the new track!

+1. Car-to-car contact is soooooo extremely rare in HPDE that it shouldn't be a concern. Especially in the instructed groups, which are tightly controlled. If you want to "get out there by yourself" I recommend NASA-MA @ VIR-Patriot, Feb 21:
