C7 Corvette Rendering...
To all those saying it looks like a Camaro just because it has curves in the quarter panel.... no it doesn't... it looks like a classic Corvette line...

The new Camaro... looks like a Camaro.

Corvette has always had a "double-bubble" roof, but not as pronounced as the GenII Viper. When the C5Z06 came out there was a post on the Corvetteforum where I guy was ranting that his brand new car had a dent in the roof. He went so far as to take pics of the car with a level laying on the roof... it was rather funny when people explained that it was a design feature.
Yeah the roof on the Gen I Vipers looks like an afterthought becuase it was
The car was designed as a open top Roadster and then they figured out a way to stick on a top after the fact. I can see where you'd draw the comparison based on the rendering pic, but I think they're pulling inspiration from something like the Daytona Prototyles and closed cockpit lemans racers more than anything. Also, it's supposedly confirmed that the split window is returning had has been approved in the design. But at the end of the day this is just one artist's rendering... it just happens to be the best one yet and from an historicaly accurate source.

I think the C5 has aged very well. With some nice wheels etc. it can still look like a new or nearly new car. The one part of the design that is showing it's age are the length of the front and rear overhangs. Modern car styling is going to very short almost non-existant overhangs.
Well technically it is "mid engine"... just front mid. But since I know you mean rear-mid I ask why? The C5R and C6R allready beat the snot out of everything with the front-mid configuration. No need to go rear-mid for the sake of impressing people that think it's automatically better. That said, it was considered for a time, but it has been officially set aside, the car will retain the front-mid setup. Rear-mid comes up everytime a new generation Corvette is on the horizon. The NCM even has a 4-rotor wankle setup that was tested in the development of the C3.

Its kinda ugly. C5s have one of the best overall profiles of a corvette ever. Second to the C2. :P
