Actually, for T&E work this makes sense. I do think low overhead is the way of the future for a lot of legal work. It's either a very nice change or a shock to the system to go from Troutman to working from home.

It's worked out quite well, most clients would rather meet at thier financial adviser's office or thier own home. Biggest overhead we have is a really nice printer and a big safe. She works half as much, charges half as much and makes twice as much. What's wrong with that?

Seriously if you need help, just give her a call she can tell you what you need to do, not just with the initial set up but with all the tax issues that you'll face next year. She's also a CPA.

Once you get your business license squared away make sure you file for a certificate of assumed or fictitious name Form cc-1050. You will need it. That way when you get your business bank account you can have people pay through the fictitious name rather the corp or llc. Also your checks etc will be under fictitious name.
