no front plate is a primary violation. you can be stopped for it without doing anything else wrong.

OP - depends on who sees you. some don't care, others write it. it's an equipment violation, so no points.

I got pulled twice. I got let go for the first time because I made up an excuse about how the body shop didn't order the bracket for the bumper. He looked at my bumper and saw there was no mount for it or even holes(I told the body shop to fill in the holes on the new bumper)....... The second time I was out in Caroline Co and he did a u-turn on a 2 lane road to come after me. I paid the $90 ticket because I wasn't going to spend money in gas to drive out there with it mounted on the car and still have to pay court fees like someone I knew had to do. Plus, I felt lucky because about 2 minutes earlier I was doing 80+ in a 45 on the wrong side of the road over the solid lines passing someone.

I thought it was funny being of all the times i pass a Henrico/State/Chesterfield cop on a 2 way road, this guy gets me on a 4 lane divided highway and he had to drive 1/2 mile plus just to turn around to get me..lol. I bet it was the fact I mentioned something in here that jinx'd me

I got pulled over once for no front plate on Broad street one random Friday night two years ago. Even though I told them that when I bought the car it didnt come with a front plate bracket (which it didnt) I still got a ticket. Just put your front plate on and dont get a ticket.

A friend of mine doesn't have one mounted in the front. Keeps it in his windshield. Got a ticket, went to court with photos of it mounted properly, charges dropped.

my car doesn't have a front plate, or a braket for the front plate. i live in the fan and work in the west end and have had no issues. i hear on the soutside (chesterfield, powtan etc. ) it's worse and cops will snag you for it.

i've only be stopped once and that was in VB and the cop just let me off with a warning. so i've been rather fortunate the year and a half i've owned the car.
