I'm about 30-45 mins from Shoe Creek. We are only on the Highway for about 15 mins out of that time.

Oh shoot it'll take me just under 2 hours to drive there.. if that. I'll just bring a chain and lock the trailer to the back of my Explorer somehow. I'm trying to come up Friday to wheel and camp that night and wheel Saturday morning, need to be back in Richmond before dinner time. I've never been to Shoe Creek, you say there's a place to pitch a tent? Can I just leave the truck/trailer in a field where we're staying? Kinda like Flagpole - GWNF?

No, not really at all. There is no field or anything to leave truck and traler, that's why I offered my place. You would prob have to leave the trailer at the Food Lion parking lot in Lovingston and drive the Jeep to ShoeCreek. Yeah, there are plenty of camping spots around the trail. Ones big enough for a good sized group of us.

Brandon,

The end of the trail at crabtree meadows has a small parking lot. It is the best (most popular) place to to camp. From lurking the run is going to begin at Alahambra (bottom) of the trail and go up to Crabtree Meadows. It would take at least an hour to drop a trailer at the top and make the trail head. It would be better for you to start at the top run down the mountian and then run back up.

I dunno yet, I've got some guys coming up from Carolina that are supposed to camp out that weekend also. As soon as I hear from them I'll post it up so people can meet or find us.

No problems with beginners! We have meets and actually getting ready to have one pretty soon I think. We are discussing a meeting date now. I'm not really sure where you are located but by that number I am assuming NoVa area? This would be a good one to go on for a beginner because its camping involved and we aren't rushing through =a trail so some people can get home because they promised their wife they would be home by a certain time. Feel free to PM me any questions you have about meetings or trip stuff.

hey man sorry i didnt kno i was on my friends account (beeotch) this is my account.
anyways ya im in nova area and i would like to go to the meet whenever you guys decide to have one.
just keep me updated
hopefully my car will be good to go by then, just need to pick up new tires
