You're crazy. Why would electric motor turn you off? Think about it for a second, less moving parts. They are more reliable than lets say your standard engine. Don't expect these things to crash like your computer either, your computer is made to a wide varity of different things, these motors are designed to just a series of task. Flawlessly. Think about the high level of modification that can be done to these things with just a hack box. I'm sure they'll be a lot of possible upgrades avaliable to these motors.

Somebody please tell me what other vehicle on earth could blast out that kind of horsepower and have gas mileage comparable to a Jetta? Gotta give props when props are due.

If the car proves itself performancewise, I think it will find a market.
There's a huge difference in the history and prestige of a Ford Mustang (widely known as a cheap, quick pony car) and the Ford GT/GT40 (THE ferrari killer from the 1960s, dominated le mans, and shut enzo ferrari up about "the only real american sports car is a Jeep" when his ferrari's got waxed ).

Back then GT40 was not a production car. Toyota has their reputation on the track as well.

Whats your problem with Ford? No flame intended, but you talk bad about them like they kindnapped your first born child and slept with you sister? Anytime Ford is brought up, you say nothing but negative things, if you don't like them fine. Just wondering why you talk so much crap behind a reputable company thats been around longer than Honda and Toyota put together. Opinions are like ass-holes, everyones got em'.

Dude, he just mentioned a FACT. Then again at least that car had a basis for its return, this toyota thing has no heritage at all, it's just a concept. I still think if someone wants an exotic car, and is paying the MONEY for an exotic car, they are going to want the prancing horse in the front and the "ferrari" on the back." If you had to pick beween Ferrari, Ford, and Toyota, which would you pick? Ferrari bases all of their money and engineering on making cars fast, along with racing them. Ford and Toyota are out to make money by selling practical and cheap cars, the images don't really mix, that's why I don't think they belong in this market.

If you spend 100k on a car, who the hell cares about gas mileage? I think Toyota just refuses to accept the fact that a car can consume more than 1 gallon every 30 miles.

No, I understand, it would be a tough disicion for me between the new Ford GT or a comparable Ferrai. (the Ford does outdue serveral Ferrari's for $100,000 dollars less){of course if I had $100,000 to spend, why the hell not $300,000 right? }I was just asking why he has the problem he does with Ford. I'm not a fan of Toyota or Honda, but I respect them, along with every other car manufaturer except Kia. To think that one manufacturer builds a better car in the same price range, is ignorant.

But, back to topic, a car of this stature from Ford or Toyota, or any manufacturer in the same class for that matter is rather wierd. That doesn't mean I wouldn't want a Ford GT though.

Hey hey hey, they made 70 or so GT40 road cars. Next you're gonna start telling me the Hemi Super Stock Cuda's and Dart's from 1968 werent production cars because they only made 100 cuda's and 71 darts.

Yes, Ford knows better than to try to get into the supercar market more often though. They set out to do something, and they did it, and they did it well. Ford also dominated the stock drag racing class back in the early 60s with the 429-powered Thunderbolt, and lets not forget the "Fastest Street Car Wars" of the late 80s/early 90s between the Fox body 5.0 stangs and the Grand Nationals. Or about Ford's dominance in F1 in the 80s.

Ford doesnt have the prestige as ferrari does, besides the GT40/GT. But they also dont have the stain on their record of letting a lowly mass production american company run their shit for a few years.
