RB26DETT engine swap
i hear ya brother, all that matters to me is the car being MINE! not 40,000 other peoples. the reason i picked this particular proj. is beacause i have yet to see some trendy tuner even consider it yet. and at this time ive got 12k i can put down. and a lil ass 240 dont need much more then 300hp ( i know the rb26 isnt 300 but it wouldnt take much to hit it ). still lookin for suggestions on the awd platform.... isnt the skyline awd 80%front 20% rear?? if its anything like that, that solves the front heavy issue
It is trendy and it is not at all difficult. If anyone would bother clicking on the link I posted on the first page, everything you need is provided by Mckinney. New mounts, driveshaft, wiring service for harness conversion, hell even downpipes to keep the stock twins.
its trendy, yet i have not seen one... even at the drift events back home there wasnt a single one and alot of the crazy mods show up at the events.. but ty for the info bro
It would be easier/cheaper to just buy a damn R32 GTR than make an AWD 240.
Seriously, you will be throwing a shitload of money and time at a project that very, very few people have tried, much less completed.
If any of you bothered reading the link I posted earlier, McKinney sells all the random shit you need to stuff an RB26DETT into a 240 without needing to fuck with the firewall or hood. Hell, the link was posted twice.

It's pointless.
The SR can make more than enough power to get the job done, and does so while being both lighter and cheaper. Also, parts availability for an RB26 is a hell of a lot more limited on the off chance that you break something.
Dammit, stop trying to talk sense into him, let him do it. I want him to get it started, pour a bunch of money into it, and when he's out of money and its still not running I can buy it for cheap
All that despite a KAT being more than capable of what he wants.
Oh wait, was I thinking out loud again?
