on a serious note, wrx's aren't the fastest in a straight line, fastest street driven wrx's i've seen with a descent amount of work are mid 12s.. which is respectable. They are a beast around a track or autox. It's a different kind of car, you really have to take care of it, otherwise it just wont treat you good.

AWD driveline lag does that to you. However, in the past few years, there have been major improvements in Subaru tuning. Look at Hondas - those engines have been around for 15 years. DSM's have been around just about as long. The WRX engine has really only been around for a few years, and the things that work on the '02-'03 don't always work on the '04-'05. It's relatively simple (althought not cheap) to get the car to run mid 12's. Mine does and still gets 19-20 mpg. But, with more and more companies making parts for the WRX, it's only a matter of time until they start making the power and turning in the times that the other cars are already doing.

wrx's have been out since 1995(the real ones anyway, not your bug-eye crap) and the parts are plentifull and abundant. The turbos, however, just started to come out that make lots of power. The japanese didnt really care for a green on there wrx.

The ECU is totally different on the JDM and EDM models, which is a large part of the tuning process. And, a lot of parts that work on the older body styles don't work on the newer body styles. Many of the parts are only recently becoming available in the US, as well.

I'd like to see some pics of that.

I know for a fact that parts from GC 2.5RS's don't fit the GD RS's.
