The Ford Probe V6 is the one that used a Mazda Engine from the MX-6

If you read the article then you would realize that the quote was taken out of context. He stated that the Camry was a better car for the money than the Taurus. The article went on to explain how Ford made the decision to market the Taurus more as a fleet car in order to generate more sales. However, the Taurus then could not drop its reputation as being a bland rental car, and thus caused traditional consumer sales to drop. It was then noted that the Taurus would soon be replaced with the new Five Hundred, which will appeal more to being a sport sedan.

Yes, Toyotas are incredible cars, and have fantastic build quality. Their reliability record is unmatched, but who doesn't know what.

Ford was basically admitting that their marketing technique for the Taurus as being the cause of its sales drop over time. If you recall back in the early 90's the Taurus was the number one sold car in the U.S., but now it has been replaced by the Camry and Accord.

The article did not state that ALL Ford's suck, just that the Taurus has fallen behind the times. If you state that ALL Ford's suck, then obviously you haven't driven a Lightning.

So MR2 turbo's are for old people now?

Then the USDM MX6 has a Ford motor, but the JDM MX6 has a Mazda motor. I forget the engine code, but I looked it up and it's a popular swap with the MX6/Probe guys.

The probe has a 2.5 mazda motor. The one my buddy has is full mazda but his brother's is also full mazda but the cover does say ford. when parked side by side the motors are the same but the covers look different. The mx6 that I had was the same motor just with a bigger cam then the probe. Just call autozone or pepboys and they will tell you that they are the same motors excpet the cam size. That is why they ask you if it is the big or small cam.
