Drivers break mitsubishi drivetrains, not the power. driven properly he can launch as hard as he wants. dunno where that common ignorant misconception comes from, but if it's in your genes please castrate yourself before they get spread.
yup there are plenty of 600whp evos on stock tranny with uprgaded clutches.

if a RWD on a slick can't destroy an AWD out of the hole he's doing something wrong. from a dig the camaro definitely has the upper hand by far.
RWD owns awd, now on the street its different...unless the car is running slicks...Im pretty sure that camaro had slicks

Of course the Evo was designed to be raced, but it certainly was not setup for drag racing and hard launches.

slipping the clutch wastes 60' times and burns up clutch material. get a good flywheel and clutch you can trust, and invest in good driveline components. fuck babying something out of the hole.

personal rule of thumb: if i break it, GREAT! i found the weak link. rebuild it with something stronger and try again...
I see what you're sayin, but do this in an awd dsm and the car will bog before taking off. Which kills more time than slipping the clutch along with the possible driveline damage.

the 1st gen F-bodies are pretty light, weighing in around 3300 or so.. that puts it about on par with the Evo... a modded car will usually weigh LESS than stock, since parts are normally simplified and built from lighter materials, and stock parts are usually pretty heavy. i don't know where you get the dumb ideal that he gains 300 lbs from a turbo swap? might want to go back to 1st grade math there.

I said 3600lbs with a driver! most drivers are 200 lbs! the upgraded turbo components and other accessories with it in that car will add some weight. and you basically just reiterated what i said; the camaro and evo weight-wise are on par. learn how to read before calling people ignorant.

the weight of that EVO was NOT increased by the mods. it was DECREASED if anything. unless he has TVs and shit in that thing, or is a sumo wrestler, there is no weigh that car is weighing in over 3450ish with driver. the only mod that may have increased weight is the weight difference between the stock turbo and that GT turbo. difference of maybe 5 lbs. all other aftermarket parts on that car are equal or lighter than their stock counterpart, or at least not heavier by an ammount worth adding up.
