Yes I do, it is in development and made specifically for his car, although it could be altered to work with some other Nissans. It will be called the Zemulator and allow complete reprogramming across the map. The best part is, it is being made by a twin turbo Z driver/enthusiast, and not a big company. So it should be relatively inexpensive compared to other engine management products. I would advise waiting until its release before he decides on a different product. I am probably going to use the Zemulator since it is tailored to the Z32. Do you know what your friend is planning on doing to his Z that would require that level of tuning/remapping?

we've looked into zemulator, but its not fully programmable like the haltech, it plugs into the eeprom and costs about $700...in my opinion, i would just save up a few hundred more and get a fully programmable system like haltech or TEC-III. im not quite sure of his exact intentions. btw, do you know if the hicas system would be disabled if the stock ecu were replaced w/ the haltech?

Ooooh, interesting. I was under the impression that everything could be manipulated, and in real time. What are its limitations compared to Haltech?

Where did you see it being sold? I thought that it was still unreleased and would be @ $500.

I believe the HICAS would still work, but don't take my word for it.

Yes, that's a good question, with an ecu like tec iii OR HALTECH, hicas must be disabled, as those ecus are fully programable for any vehicle and probably do not have options for vehicles with 4 wheel steering specifically Nissan HICAS. My intentions are to have the fastest track car i can get without loosing streetability. Probably going to re-build the internals at some point with an objective of 20Psi boost running open wastegate. Probably go all out on the internals including High RPM valvetrain and 450 lift cams, from ISKY.

riiiight! You don't go buying a fully programmable ECU unless you're doing some incredible modification.

I see, maybe another reason to consider the Zemulator. What exactly does the Zemulator NOT do that you would need? I need to know this stuff for when MY time comes.

Have you considered Jun internals over ISKY? And what turbos will you be using?

i would most definately NOT go with .450 lift cams...you will lose all notions of streetability...plus i would look into the JUN internals...yes theyre expensive but dont half ass this car adam

Yes, please do it right. If JUN is too expensive, you can also get Tomei parts. Check out www.zedparts.com. Aikmeng is real cool and reliable. Tell him Eric sent you, if you buy anything from him. Might help me out in the future.

Oh, and I'm not saying there's anything wrong with ISKY parts. I'd actually like to see the outcome of any of the brands mentioned. Not many Z owners (in the US) upgrade the internals because it is usually not necessary. Those that do are usually strict racers, and their setups and results are not published. So I wouldn't mind seeing the outcome no matter what you choose. Don't forget to get a dyno record BEFORE you make modifications, so we can see what was actually accomplished. Are these things you are planning on doing soon?

yeah just go with the TEC3.......then you get to roll around with the labtop and wait for the screen to say "danger to MANIFOLD".....i am such a ricer.
