If you genuinely don't understand what I mean, I'll explain. The shop clearly has the wherewithal to repair the car properly using original pans, which are not expensive. For roughly a thousand dollars, one can buy new floors and a new trunk. Rather than repair the car and make it into something useful, they used it as an exercise in removing the car's best attribute, which was its handling. They took fifty year-old technology and further reduced its utility when they had the ability to make it perform fundamental tasks well.

My problem with the car lies with its inability to function. That doesn't make me mad, it makes me think that whomever envisioned such a thing, the shop that collaborated on it or those who think it's cool are inherently nearsighted don't truly appreciate cars as the complex mechanical masterpieces they are.

Now feel free to disregard everything I wrote and misuse the term 'smug' again.
