Cycle whore thread
I think Spies should of stayed in World Superbike for another season. I think the racing is better there than in MotoGP, but thats my opinion. I hope he doesn't fall down the same line Hopkins, Hayden, and Edwards have gone down, I surely don't expect him to do in GP what hes done in World Sbk.
Also, if Rossi or Lorenzo don't leave the factory team for 2011, that leaves him on the satelite team for another year, which is not where he needs to be.
Also, check these out incase you haven't seen these videos yet.

That said, next year WSBK is going to be incredible. Honda found pace with the Ohlins and Rea has really come on, plus Toseland's back and Crutchlow's joining him on the factory Yamaha, and Kawi's supposed to be doing big things with their ZX-10 program next year.
I wouldn't be surprised to see WSBK become the "premier" series because MotoGP politics is watering down the racing. There are 4-5 guys that could compete for a Podium in MotoGP, whereas WSBK has 10 competing for the win. haha
I agree, but he's said for years his goal was MotoGP. He's already 24 (I believe), so waiting in WSBK one more year would have made him 26, which would be against him. Also, if he stayed in WSBK in 2010, in 2011 he would have been on a Satellite anyway, so better to get that out of the way, and if he shows promise Yamaha would be stupid to not pull a Honda and put a factory bike under him disguised as a Tech3 Satellite.

Ill agree with all that. I heard a lot of people are fighting for the Kawi ride. There have been many years that "they are supposed to be doing something next year" in all levels of road racing with Kawi. I wonder if that will actually happen or if its just hype.
Also, I have heard a lot of putting a factory spec Tech 3 bike under Spies. I wonder if that will actually happen, one thing that is great news is that he is taking Houseworth with him to GP, which no one would argue has been a big factor in his sucess in AMA and World Superbike.
I am excited to see him in GP, its just like I had said, I hope he doesn't fade out because the competition is so stiff. Who knows, maybe he will suprise everyone again like he did this year. E

Rossi has said Spies is at a disadvantage compared to a rider coming out 250's because the bikes handle more like that than a superbike, but he rode the shitty Suzuki's last year and had decent results so...I hope he does real good, and I think Colin and him will gel way better than Toseland did.
EDIT: What sucks is I used to get up with a few friends and watch a race or two at a bar, but now football is here and it's hard to find a spot to switch on Speed. haha

I used to watch with a few friends as well, but either they act like they are into racing and would rather talk about bullshit and not even pay attention to the race, or just aren't into it anymore. I wish I had other people to watch with in the area.
And let's hope the fucking AMA doesn't suck ass next year. Manufacturers are dropping like flies.
I already took the insurance off my bike for the winter. I might be able to snag my dad's VFR for something like that though, even though I am in Richmond.
I didn't get to watch those races in HD, but now that I have a decent TV, it sucks not getting it in HD.
As far as AMA, Ill catch races when I can, but I unfortunately have lost interest. AMA used to be all I watched but with the tv package they gave, plus all the bullshit, I just never caught most of the races. Even when they went back to SDD, they were still on at 11pm and midnight on Sundays. Who wants to watch races at those times? I kept up with it on the racing websites, but the series was a joke. With Honda pulling out, and they stated their good reasons for doing so, I wouldn't be suprised if more pulled out. They want to appeal to privateers, but the factories are the ones putting up the cash, they are the ones they need to aim towards. Even with that, I have read a couple stories for privateers over on the WERA board about how bad it is even for them. Its really a shame..
