but you are trying to pass them off as real by putting cpr stickers on them! if you dont want to, then get some stickers that say rota track r for competition, not CP-R. Its been done before, do it again.

EXTRA 2300. Its obvious no one looks around or knows anything about wheel prices. what wheels are you spending 3-4k dollars on? were not talking HREs. used whels go for 500-1200 before refinishing. you can get refinished wheels for 1k-2k most of the time with tires. new rotas are 800-1k after tires ect.

The wheels are stronger and lighter and if you were to hit something they will bend not break.

on a dd that you dont mind getting road chips, tar streaks, bird shit on...go with some reps.

if you're building some kinda show car/dream car build/etc...go ahead and get the nice ones if it's gonna be a garaged vehicle.

on the whole, putting money in a car is a waste either way. you never ever get your money back after you mod it, you never get reimbursed for the blood, sweat, and tears you put in, and buyers often dont want a car with extensive work done. the typical car will never hold it's value...people have forgotten its an investment item...something that will take you to point a to b, and aid you in going to work so u can afford your house, which will continuely GAIN value. while there are markets and buyers who want a nice, cool, sleek, fast car...think of the average day on the road driving...how many restored muscle cars, current uberturbo'd imports, or current day cobra mustangs do you see, compared to the average person driving a corolla or fusion, just using their car as transportation.

if you have a $3000 vw that you're selling for $7000, just so u can break even with the cost of those real BBS wheels...money conscious buyers will look elsewhere.

No I'm saying don't fake the Funk and put stickers on replica wheels. If you do, put something like the car I posted had. I have an aneurysm everytime some one says rota? No, I haven't posted in this thread in at least a month. Like I said before, I don't have a problem with people rocking replicas, just don't pass them off as legit.

This is funny to read along with all the 'buy some authentic wheels that need refinishing'.

We're talking NEW, not used, no one is going to pay $1300 for a set of used reps. BBS LM wheels for my car are $3600 from tirerack.

Either wheel will receive damage from the same pot hole given the same variables (car, tires, suspension, etc), repairing the 'authentic' wheel could run you the same amount as a new replica. Frankly, the cost of unmounting the tire, fixing the bend/crack, remounting the tire, etc will almost definitely cost you more in the end. Besides, not too many people want to drive around on repaired wheels.

My wheels are still in awesome shape. On the other hand, I can speak from personal experience, ive had 2-3 rotas (all different set-ups, different cars) crack, etc, on me. From driving on same roads I drive on everyday now.

Now that I think about it, I never bent my works or volks either.

Go figure.

I've had volks bend on your basic pot hole.
