Don't feel bad. We get race one today, and then wait for race 2 and SS until Tuesday. Gay! AMA racing set up is even dumber.

 

gawd damn its amazing what a little maintenance will do for you!

I let the bike cool off over night and the next morning took apart the fairing, gas tank and crept in quietly on the still sleeping valves. They are within spec, but just on the operating edge. Unfortunately, if I replace the shims at this point, they will be way out of wack.

the best part was putting it back together and hooking up the meter to check the throttle bodies. Number 1 was significantly lower than the rest, which was giving me a weird hesitation on the drive. Also, my idle was about 750 RPM's off from what the guide was telling me.

Now its not a demon, but shit does it run better. Smoother, quicker acceleration and no hesitation.

A celica that drove off a cliff and parked herself in a ravine.

A harley owner that was afraid to cross a wash area...which had about 1/4 inch of water running over it.
