2. Those other drivers were breaking when he was accelerating? like the other drivers hadn't drove the course before lol

 

may have been close to the start, seemed to thin out as he pulled away but nice driving non the less

 

Have you ever seen the field at an amateur racing event? If not, here's an idea of how many cars can be out there at one time:

The Lotus video is the Australian version of Spec Miata. Check out how many cars are on track at the same time at any US Spec Miata race and you'll understand that a field size like that of the same cars is not uncommon. It's not a geography thing, it's the nature of spec racing.

 

watched some vids, maybe it was a combination of that vid being the start of a race and taking a while for the field to separate
