We don't need 3 row seating, but I want it. I don't see the point in spending money on an SUV thats gets horrid gas mileage if there's no more room inside than my current A4. If I'm going to pay the price of owning an SUV, I want to reap some benefits. Also, living in Hawaii brings us a lot of visitors. If more than 2 people come out, we have to take 2 cars to go anywhere. Seating for 7-8 would eliminate that. ALSO, throw Skyler in the back and her stroller ion the trunk and there isn't much room left over for grocery shopping and stuff like that. A larger vehical would just be...convienient.

As far as not buying a minivan.... I'm not comfortable enough with my manhood to drive a minivan. I need to make up for my small penis with a big SUV.

Wife doesn't like them, and it's her primary vehical, not mine.

too big to commute every day in Hawaii. Driving out here is a lot different than back there. Plus, it's not about what I can afford so much, as what I can have paid off in two and a half years. I want to buy something to get us by and pay it off by the time we get back to VA, then I'll either get an Armada, Excursion, or QX56.

i dont like minvans, and thats all that matters . having a family car is ok if we dont have to get anythign and put it in the car if so there is never enough room. I want to have room to take my daughter and go run errands and bring someone if need be without it being a hassle. Plus I have always loved trucks and suv's cars just really aren't my thing anymore.

And sorry but I don't like MDX's at all . I like envoy's and I like the idea of onstar, but I like the pilot because it's a honda and I trust it.

I just don't understand the preoccupation with having such a big turd lumbering down the street for no practical reason. I know many people who can easily take everything they need for two children in a mid sized sedan. I mean, if you just want an SUV as a status symbol, that's fine, but I don't think you should try to disguise it as practicality.

I have friends back in Va that have one or two kids that do it with cars and others that do it with suv's. But everyone I know feels like they don't have enough room for everything. Then add in that they don't have out of town visitors that depend on them for vehicles , so no they don't need it there. But BESIDES the fact that I want an SUV, it would make life easier on us in the long run.

There is no need for an SUV. Hell Rob and his wife are getting by with their baby in an RSX. We could get by in the Audi if we wanted to. If I was just into SUVs for the "status symbol" I would have no problem with seating for five. The fact is I want something bigger. It in fact IS a practicality issue. My wife has a very short commute to and from work so the gas mileage is a minimal issue. In our case I think the rewards of owning a larger vehical outweigh the costs. We can fit ourselves plus our visiting friends and family in a larger SUV. We can fit a cooler, umbrella, carseat, beach bag and anything else we need to go to the beach in a larger SUV. We wont have to worry about potholes (which are in fact a major issue out here) in an SUV. Insurance is about the same cost. If you've driven a modern mid-sized SUV you'd know that they don't "lumber" down the road. They drive like cars and aside from slightly worse gas mileage are no less convienient to drive on a daily basis than a minivan. The ONLY downfalls I can find are SLIGHTLY worse gas mileage and rough parking in small spots. To me, it's worth it.
