how high maintainance are RX-7's?
There is some information on the NET about Mazda's rotary taken out of a racing group for winning like.. 15 YEARS IN A ROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They finally let them back in ~2003.. I'm not too sure on specifics but that is enough proof for me.. and the pure fact of the high-rev and high power out-put with a nice single turbo.. Just research the old rotary planes.. they had the motor for RELIABILITY. Believe it.
Also, the EASE of the rebuild is another point to use them for racing.. 3 MOVING PARTS. OR if you want something MONSTEROUS 20b
I will be looking for a 20b when I finally get the money (15k+) to put it in a 89 TSi. You wouldn't expect a 500hp TSi rotary eating up shit on the track. And this is accomplished with replacing the twins for a single. Pretty much it.
One big downfall is the trany and the computer control. Yuo can overcome this if you have the bank and you really are looking for a career in racing.. and yes, you will be near the top
Peace
