yeah chris I know the swap has been done a few times, nowhere near as much as the v8 swap though.

terry I would check your friends car out, but I kinda want to do it myself lol. but it would be a good starting point haha.

im kinda in a toss up now as to stick with the stock motor or to swap the sr20. im not trying to drop an assload of money into the car

If you don't want to drop that much money into the car, I'd say boost the stock motor to output a safe amount, ie. whatever is known to be a good HP level on a stock block. I would imagine that swapping in a sr20, buying the kit, and upgrading components of the sr20/turbo would already cost a pretty penny? Either way, good luck. I'm intrigued to see what comes of this.

well they dont make a kit (that I know of) to swap the sr20. I dont plan on doing anything internally to the sr20, and I dont think I plan on taking it as far as 350hp, because i forgot it wont take as much hp to move that little car lol.

terry says you can make upwards of 290whp on the stock motor?
also what gen does the 1.6 come in? Im looking for a 1st gen
