confirm this. This is requirement for LEA's.

It's different in the police force. They don't do weapon drills like that everyday. Just more reason why this officer doesn't have an excuse.

Mishaps occur, " Horan said. "It did here. I feel for the family of the victim in this case. You have to. But I also feel for the police officer. This is a good police officer. He's had a fine record over 17 years with this department. And he's as shattered by this as any good police officer should be."
An undercover officer said Culosi placed $28,000 in professional football bets. Court documents revealed police claims to have found betting slips, cash, suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia inside Culosi's condo.
I can't believe what is happening. Just look at this memo by the Fairfax County Police Department Public Information Office.

I honestly feel threatened by shit like this. Might as well have added "Oh, yeah... by the way.. if you DO decide to go ahead and gamble illegally, there's a slight chance we might 'accidently' shoot and kill you. You know, our officers DO get tired every once in awhile, heh." Tomorrow I'm making some calls to let these fuck heads know how I feel. What a fucking TERRIBLE way to earn our trust with a release like this.

Illegal Betting Is Not Worth the Risk
March Madness is synonymous with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) brackets and the office betting pool. However, it is also marked by illegal gambling. In Virginia, gambling is illegal when someone other than the gambler, such as a gambling operator, makes a profit. Police have seen both low-level illegal gambling operations and large-scale criminal enterprises. Those who are involved in these illegal activities can be assured of one thing: the police will investigate these crimes and make arrests.
The Organized Crime and Narcotics Division usually targets sports betting organizations run by two or more people working in concert who use the proceeds from illegal activity to support their lifestyles. Members of illegal gambling enterprises are often associated with money laundering, tax evasion, theft, drug offenses, weapons violations, robbery, assaults and homicide.
In January of 2004, a man murdered a 32-year-old woman and her 22-month-old daughter in their Falls Church-area home. Dinh Pham was charged with murder after police found him at a racetrack and gambling facility in Maryland. On February 8, Fairfax County police arrested eight members of a suspected organized crime family and their organization for crimes ranging from loan sharking and illegal Internet gambling to narcotic distribution and extortion. Fairfax County Police made 41 arrests for conducting illegal gambling operations in 2004.
Distressed Fairfax County citizens will call police when family members have lost college funds, retirement accounts and life savings to illegal gambling or when they are unable to pay their gambling debts. Police will continue to enforce the law and arrest suspects involved in illegal gambling to ensure the safety of the community.

I agree 100% that around half of police officers are crooked Ive dealt with it personally and am sick of it. My step mother is a sheriff and she tells me stories all the time about what some police officer's do. I think this is rediculous theres no way to say wether a police officer is doing something right or wrong (even if you have proof!) Killing someone is killing someone regardless of your position. people get killed and hurt every day because of accidents does that mean they arent guilty? NO, sixteen year old kids are sent to jail for murder all the time, should they write that off as an adolescent hormone malfunction? or wait no, there not responsible because they werent old enough to realize they had their whole life ahead of them. I would almost feel better if they just wrote that police officers are exempt from the law

I dunno, when I heard about all this I figured the cop shot him so he couldn't tie up the legal system and walk away free.
Haha, for every cop that gets away with something like this, there are at least 20-30 criminals getting away with the same or worse shit. Well, potential criminals.
