Arron's, or better yet my, tranny was a high milage tranny, and it blew up from the abuse Aaron put it through running every weekend on slicks on the street.

So they can shift MORE? Or because they read on Honda-Tech that shorter gears are better for accelleration?

Hmm we should make a poll on which tranny is better?

better yet a poll on short gears for acceleration as opposed to long gears for top end velocity.

Well, I have finally made up my mind. I'm keeping the B16 and boosting it. It will be a daily Driver to and from school, work, store, meets, etc. I would like it to get up quick instead of being a turtle. So what in your opinion is the best transmission to go with? And since I will be boosting, what Fly-wheel should I get? I want to do this right the first time..

Longer gears can still accellerate faster. Yes, with shorter gearing you'll accellerate faster in any given gear, but that advantage is lost as soon as you shift.

i agree that it can but only if you have the power to do so. and with that same power you can still accelerate faster with the shorter gears because its less resistance and your engine will rev faster.

please elaborate on the loss at the shift. to my understanding it could be the driver shifting too slow or missing a gear. or the driver is just flat foot shifting and spinnin tires through the gears.
