are you talking about the no 2way telemitry, the transmission stuff, or the traction controll? theyre going to change half the rules by the end of the season.

i heard about the "no traction control" rule. that's crazy, a lot of hp to be gentle with coming out of the turns. i'm not sure about the other stuff. i barely have time to watch tv anymore.

most turbo race cars dont use bov's. the majority of the time that they do is when they provided with them by the sanctioning body. when that happenes its to limit the amount of boost. go watch some wrc, that chirping you hear when they go around corners is compressor surge.

how does the bov limit the boost? and wouldn't the compressor surge kill the turbo eventually. doesn't seem very reliable

mr2 is right, most of them do not run a bov, they just replcace the turbo after every race.
a bov can limit boost, but that is a retarded way to do it.
It's just a spring in the bov, so when the pressure gets high enough it will open. The bad part though is that the turbo will keep spinning making the air hotter than it would be if you limited boost using a wastegate.

a bov limits boost if it leaks. ALSO if you don't have a bov the pipes still stay somewhat compressed

Cars equppied with Mass Airflow Sensors use Recirculation Valves, which do the same thing.
