I know the feeling. We bought a house last Thursday, so I haven't had any spare time for a while...

I do have one more question though. After the baby comes Marie will probably come riding with me some so I have the plenty of time to do this. Instead of buying a complete bike for her I was thinking about just buying a frame and slowly peicing it together. As long as I have a decent frame then I could pretty much buy all the aftermarket components needed to complete the bike... with the exception of maybe the handle bar.

Am I correct in this assumption?

It is real expensive to build a bike from just a frame. I got a nice Gary Fisher bike for 330 approx. It's lightt, shifts smooth, and is sturdy. Is has RST front shocks. I havent had any problems. I got it from Bike Beat. They offer lifetime tuning for your brake and shifter cables. Also if you buy a bike make sure you get the right frame so you arent to big or too short for the bike.

I realize it would be more exspensive to build up from a frame... but if I can slowly piece it together it would also be easier on the wallet at the ssame time.

That works if you don't have the money to buy it all at one time. However, if you buy a complete bike it's MUCH cheaper than building it yourself. It will cost you about four times as much to build a bike than to buy one if you buy all the parts new. But, you can go to companies like www.greenfishsports.com or www.cambriabike.com who have closeouts on previous year model parts and get them much cheaper. Parts companies are like car manufacturers - they only change the paint job from year to year.

good deal. I'm probably swing that route with Marie's bike unless we find an unbelieveable deal on one. Now I just gotta get a stroller to add onto the back of the bike and rig up some suspension for it.
