Unless he sends you the tach attached to the harness, with proof that it came out of that car, go ahead and accept that you are getting an engine with about 10x that many miles, at the MINIMUM. Hell, probably more like 20x.

if it has any more than 1000 miles you wont need to break it in at all. but ordering it online, it's going to have roughly 25k-30k miles minimum. if it's a fresh motor, put non-synthetic motor oil in it and drive it like 200-300 miles. in that time, never run the rpm's up over 5k or so and don't run at one rpm too long. after about 200-300 miles, flush the oil and drive it easy for another 500 or so and change the oil again and you're good. that's what I did on my B16 when i built the block and it was fine.

So you opened up the engine and looked inside, or is the outside all shiny and pretty?

What do you think it's going to look like on the inside, dumbass? It's a sealed motor. Of course it's going to look "clean". I've never seen a healthy motor with leaves and shit in it, if that's what you think a motor with a lot of miles looks like on the inside.

I've cracked open motors with 60k on them that still had the honda color marked shit on the rocker arms.
