Lets compare apples to apples here.

Does it really matter whether it's a GM or Ford engine? They're both two different ways of accomplishing the same thing. Can't go wrong with either. We should all be bi like Phil and swing both ways.
phuck it! richard - go with the windsor - based mtr.
a "connection" at a reputable shop near rockingham,nc called us 2 weeks ago offering dart blocks at 1700 ea.
14:1 420" windsor, nasty lil comp cam, good set of TFS-R heads (ported of course) or a set of Neal Brodix, Super Vic, 2 stage fogger, your same Glide... low 8's???
you're mr. money bags. you got it.

I am goign to build a Windsor for Hollys car. What are they asking for a shortblock?

i don't think they (holcomb) does short blocks. i bought all my stuf and put it together myself - im kinda leary of buyin something that someone else may have taken a shortcut on.

bb&t has some reasonable prices on short blocks. from what i hear, they've been in business quite a while and have a pretty good rep.
3 most powerful lsx engines
1. ls7 06 Z06 505 horse NA and underrated
2. ls6 Earlier Z06 405 horse NA and underrated
3. LS2 vette/gto 400 horse NA and underrated
Average 437 horse closer to rear wheel hp
3 most powerful ford modular engines
1. Ford GT 550 horse Supercharged and overrated
2. Ford gt500 500 horse Supercharged and overrated
3. Ford 03 cobra 390 horse Supercharged and overrated
Average 480 closer to flywheel hp = @400rwhp
Fine

if you compare even more engines it gets even more stacked in fords favor because on down the list you still have the 385 horse cobra R and 380 horse lightning to round out the top 5 which still puts the average of the top 5 at 441 which is still more than the average of the 3 most powerful production chevy lsx engines.
Why not compare the ls9, gee maybe because they haven't sold a single one at a gm dealership yet.

Two supercharged and one special production run engine/car for Ford versus three mass produced naturally aspirated production engines for the General!?!?
I don't even like most modern day domestics, but even I can see the stupidity in your comparisons.
I just finished dropping in an LS1(422ci stroked) piece in my 95 Mustang.
wierd thing is that my UPR k-member worked perfect, no plate needed. and
94-95 headers were a dead fit as well with adapter plates. Can't wait til March.
