i saw em at 17th a year ago, but no, no pads required, though i'd recommend them in the bowl.

If you need pads to skate that little thing, you don't need to be skating the bowl.

little? doesn't look too little to me, looks maybe 9 feet deep, if not more. well if you've never skated a bowl, or even a park for that matter, wear pads in the bowl.

tomorrow? i went there tonight and it's crowded. i suck anyways, so it wasn't that great. some guy hit his head in the bowl, ambulance came and stuff. not pretty.
