i think that im going to go with sti and then join a club i have gotten more comments about sti than the evo and there will be alot more clubs for subaru than evo so yeah

I recommend driving both first before buying a car off other people's opinions.

Taking looks out of the equations....it pretty much boils down to what you want to do with the car.

As far as "clubs" there are plenty of both. even locally.
